  I had my eye on this piece for a while and finally decided to go get it so that it would come in time for my birthday. The lady that was helping me was very nice and prompt with approaching me as I walked into the store. A pleasant experience overall

  I shopped here a few weeks ago to inquire about getting a ring broadened. The sales associate who served me actually normally works at the Rideau Centre location, and was extremely helpful, warm and pleasant. However, a second sales associate there who looked like a middle aged woman with dark wavy or curly hair and glasses, was the complete opposite of the sales associate I just described. I didn't realize that I had just been beamed down from another planet into this store or that I was a prison convict on the run, because that's how she seemed to be regarding me. Hands folded over chest, staring at me, and I mean staring, no smiles, and you get the picture. If Birks wants to turn away customers, then she's perfect for this job. Because the second I dropped my ring off I regretted it, and wanted to return and retrieve it. Funny thing was as I was driving away from Bayshore, an OC Transpo bus moved up in the next lane, with an advertisement for Taing Jewellers. And that's where I went to get the work I needed done on it, for almost half the price I was quoted at Birks.
