  I was helping my Elderly Aunt in Ottawa who lives alone and is finding it extremely hard to do certain things like book flights for travel. My uncle and My Dad used to help her but they have both passed away recently so overall it has been a struggle for her. I have booked a flight for my family to go overseas to see our relatives and wanted to coordinate the same flight for my Aunt from Ottawa.

  So I call the flight centre again this morning and they are unable to share anything with me. They would not even confirm if a lady came in to book a flight to Mauritius. I am not asking for detail, just to know if she went to the right place.

  I call my Aunt this morning and she is having a memory lapse and does not remember where she went and what she booked. You can just imagine how hard this would be for her being alone in Ottawa.

  Alyshia was so good can't say enough. I wanted to go to Toronto in April for a week end. She was so helpful, and knowledgeable. I felt so comfortable making my reservations with her. I had no idea what good hotels were in Toronto, and reasonably priced. She said well the staff here stays at the Chelsea. I knew she knew it was a good hotel. I ended up booking that hotel with her. As I said I felt completely comfortable with her, and know I will have a great stay in Toronto. She was professional as well.

  This was a nightmare. Never again will I ever recommend she go to the flight centre on Bayshore and deal with Alicia or any of their staff as I dealt with several of them and none of them seem to understand basic customer service like communication period,trying to initially book with our set challenges which were revealed to them when I called initially , follow up or needing additional assistance for elderly people. I will use a travel agency that is more friendly and understanding of elderly people that might have a hard time deciphering their booking and might need assistance from their family to coordinate an international flight that takes almost 48 hours to get to one way! And I assure you that my Aunt will definetely be flying many more times internationally but will not be doing it with the Flight centre on Bayshore drive that is for sure. Agent Alicia was not helpful and was making a federal case about sharing her information with me with no understanding of the challenges we were having getting information from my Aunt. She could have been more understanding and said " I understand you need to get this information but we have a privacy policy in place so if your Aunt is able to provide it to you or if I can help her provide it to you we can do that." She did not help at all, refused to provide any info and said she would email it to my Aunt. So now my Aunt has to mail it to me in Toronto or I need to drive to Ottawa to get it. Thanks Flight Centre for making it harder for us! I should have booked everything on the internet which is where I found the flights in the first place! I have no piece of mind and I am still worried because I have to wait to see a piece of paper that they can't confirm anything about including a flight #. They get one star for actually booking the reservation even though I have no idea what they booked.

  So I googled a travel agency near my Aunts house that she could go to and book the same flights. I found the flight centre on Bayshore drive. I made contact with Sydney who prepared a quote for me then I sent her an email telling her my Aunt would be coming in to book it. That was yesterday. Never heard anything from Sydney and now she is off.

  They refused to give basic information and made it very hard for my Aunt . Alicia was being very condescending to my elderly Aunt and making her feel bad for her not being able to decipher the details on her own. They said they would email my Aunt who is email challenged as it is, now I have to wait and hope that my Uncle and I will get her email confirmation when she is in Ottawa, I am in Toronto and my Uncle is in Sydney Australia !

  So I call them back and I conference my Aunt on the phone with the agent Alicia who actually booked her flight and my Aunt says to Alicia please tell my Niece what flight # I booked to make sure I did the right thing.
